An Inside Look at Tahoe with Brit Crezee

September 20, 2012

Meet Brit Crezee, part of our team at Constellation Residences at Northstar. Originally from Colorado, with the last 17 years in Tahoe - Brit shares the inside scoop on HER Tahoe with us.

Constellation NS: What made you select Tahoe as home?

Brit: I was living in a little ski town in Summit County, Colorado where I kept reading about Tahoe in Powder magazine.  On a leap of faith, I packed up and moved out on my own and got a job as a ski instructor at Squaw Valley. Then came summer and I was completely hooked! Between the incredible amounts of snow we get in the winter to the Caribbean blue waters of the Lake and mild year-round temperatures, Tahoe is a pretty special place to call home.

ConstellationNS:  We have a great local dining scene, but everyone has their favorites. What is your favorite nearby restaurant?

Brit: My favorite local restaurant is Cottonwood. There are so many great dining choices in Truckee. We particularly love the views, the historic ambiance and the friendly faces at the Cottonwood. Grab a burger in the bar or enjoy warm Cioppino on the outdoor deck overlooking downtown Truckee.  Thursday night is happy hour all night. Their Caesar salad and French margarita won’t disappoint.

ConstellationNS: Locals know best. Are you able to share someplace in Tahoe that you’d recommend to guest with us?

Brit: My friends and I love Truckee River Winery which is just a few miles down the road from Constellation at Northstar. The kids play in sandboxes while the adults play bocce ball and enjoy an adult beverage in the sun.  They offer great cheese and cracker platters and other goodies. Well behaved dogs are welcome too.

ConstellationNS:  Sounds like a great time! And to re-fuel after a great night – your go-to Cup of Joe?

Brit:  My go-to nearby coffee spot is Coffee Bar. It’s a great place to run into friends, and the coffee and food are both excellent. The staff is friendly and eco conscious which makes it an overall feel-good hang-out.  The crepes are particularly yummy!

ConstellationNS: What places or activities would you recommend for kid-friendly activities?

Brit: Roller Skating at Northstar Village, West End Beach of Donner Lake, Truckee Legacy Trail Bike Path

ConstellationNS: What do you enjoy most about living in Tahoe?

Brit: The proximity to many great places. Three to four hours in any direction takes you somewhere amazing like San Francisco, Yosemite, Napa Valley, Monterey / Carmel or Mendocino. I also love the idea of raising my two boys in a safe place where skiing and the outdoors are first nature.

ConstellationNS: What are 5 things you can’t live without?

Brit: My beautiful family, good friends, powder skis, open space and fresh air.
